Pretty amusing when I was a department head. My hires were weighted towards the same religion as the CEO (were referrals) and Asians (I'm Asian, but really a white suburban kid from the East Coast). From an outsiders standpoint, it would look really weird. In reality, we tried to get the best fit. I'd hire anyone. But, I can see how biases can inadvertently creep in. At one point, 2 out of the 3.5 my direct reports at that time were Asian females. Edit: I was the only minority out of 20ish department heads though. Don't think it was "intentional" though.

Politely, you suck at marketing. Defund the police means...defund the police. No one is going to listen to your 100+ word summary afterwards. Slogans are slogans for a reason.

@derp8575 And, this is the issue. Hiring managers tend to hire people similar to them. And, it creates a bias against certain "types" of people. Getting in the door is usually the hardest part.

@derp8575 Geez, you are one of those people. I get it. No sense in discussing. I'm talking about about my past "small" company which was a publicly traded company with more than 1 billion market cap. And, you are talking about some random business down the street. Great. Just great.

@de6212 The left is terrible at marketing. No one is understanding that there are 1000 qualified applicants. EVERYONE IS QUALIFIED for high skilled positions.
