  1. FT did an article on this. Economic data points releases have been nearly halved since '16. The more you fake your data, it becomes harder to fake all the data points. Just easier to stop releasing all of it. Edit: lol, just relooked at the chart. It was nearly 80,000 points of data in the mid-2010s. Now, it's below 20,000. (for reference, if you look at US CPI release, there are probably 100+ points of data on the sheet. That's why the number seems so high. Multiple data points on every major release.)
