Who do you think causes a dark-skinned person to feel insecure or bad about his skin colour? His fellow dark-skinned mates? If we look at who did it any point in history, it's mostly fair-skinned people from some ethnicity or culture. (E.g., enslavement of black people in the Americas, Ethiopian Jews looked down upon by fellow white Jews, etc). I believe casteism is just an offshoot/consequence of colorism.
