@wyleecoyotee4252 Married women reporting unhappiness more doesn't equate to them actually being unhappy. Men are discentivized to open about their feelings and say their marriages fail. Men's masculinity and worth as a partner is measured by how well they're able to keep a family intact. That could explain why men report less rates of unhappiness.

@chriswatson1698 If both parents work and the woman is still doing all the chores and childcare, I agree...but SAHMs who are taken care of financially by their husbands also report high unhappiness as much as working women so clearly the threshold for what makes women happy is what's changed. It has hit the fucking roof. Have reasonable expectations towards marriage and relationships.

@wyleecoyotee4252 I also said another point: men's relative lesser unhappiness compared to women's doesn't paint the true picture because men are socially pressured to suck it up. This is a well recorded statistical phenomenon many surveyors and statisticians agree upon. There are certain issues men are more likely to say the truth about and more likely to lie about certain ones. Same applies to women. So the oft-qouted "women are more unhappy than men" hogwash needs further research and not just self-reporting stats.
