@boredom2go Yes, the Indian way is the way. Afaik, they live as joint families and their kids don't have this mentality of "move out as soon as I'm 18+ and get a car" so what ensues from this is a family of, say, four bringing in at least three streams of income( 1 parent's + 2 grown up children's income). Explains why they have some of the highest household wages that's above the American average.
