Examples: Maid sama. Why's that? Also, lots of Japanese magazines feature white caucasians as advertisement material. There are also skin whitening products in Japan, why does that exist? It's obvious why....

  14. Lol actually that's wrong. In most countries that are sufficiently well off, men's average height increases. The average height in Japan being lower has to do with the elderly(who are increasingly more in number) having too much of an impact on the mean average.

  18.  @homma409  you actually make a really good point. In my country also, the working hours are pretty tame. But the cheating stats are insanely high probably as high as Brazil's but less than Japan. There are more complex factors at play here than what meets the eye. I suppose first and foremost it's the culture that determines how much people cheat. Cheating stats among Muslims and Indian Christians are very low. And they work really long hours. But I know their cultures are extremely family-oriented and anti-cheating.

  28. In most Asian countries, people being single by choice is very very rare. There's none of this "Independent, strong and childless woman" hype so people don't go out of their way to find happiness in being single. So interviewing such women would paint a wrong picture about single women's lifestyles in Japan. Also, finding them is pretty hard in the first place.

  31. Also, Japan's rental gf/bf thingy isn't even a full blown proper culture here. It's a werid quirky thing that exists in Japan, it's not mainstream whatsoever, super super niche. If you'd noticed by now, you would realise most of the media that covers this rental partner aspect of Japan is foreign/Western media and youtube channels. Why? Because it's so abnormal and exotic and can get them lots of clicks. Showing the normal more common mainstream things about Japan won't get them views.

I was trying to make an epiphanic statement that points out the sad reality of this world, which is that the initial physical attraction matters to a lot of people even though the mainstream talks about valuing personality and whatnot. And as for my relationships, I'm actually kinda like you. A good chunk of girls have grown on me after I talk more to them even though I didn't have the initial spark. Thanks for cheering me up.

  40.  @samuelmorales2344  You're right that from a Westerner's viewpoint where christianity has been the norm for centuries, differentiating between Christian culture and OG "European" culture may be hard. But the West is just one example of a middle eastern religion influencing and changing the native culture to such a great degree. If you look at christianity in southern India or South East Asia, they've managed to mix Christianity into their native culture whilst at the same time eradicating some of their native cultural stuff that would be deemed immoral by Christianity. So yes I think it's possible.

Lazy character designs coupled with an embarrassingly high level of fascination for the Scandinavian look(to be specific, cuz most westerners don't have blonde hair and blue eyes) to the point that you hate your natural look is the real culprit here.
