  2. I've been in the US Army for 23 years. This is the best analysis of the issue I have seen as of yet. It's all true. The military has become completely woke, and is in the lowest readiness status since the 1970s. If we got into a hot war with a peer nation, we'd have to hope they're even worse off, because we are not ready for that.

The Russians are losing this war and they're facing the production power of the entire western hemisphere. Meanwhile, the Russians are selling their oil at discount and they can't find the western parts absolutely essential to building precision weapons. All while experiencing a tanking economy and a negative birthrate. The Russians are screwed. In the short term and the long term. War has to do with more than weapons. It has to do with the economy. Every Russian who dies in Ukraine will never be replaced. Never work in a field or a factory, never have kids. Their most precious resource wasted for the oligarchs. For billionaires. The Russians have gone on defense. There aren't any more Russian advances. If anything, they will be pushed completely out of Ukraine. They won't use nukes, that's a bluff. By 2024, they will have retreated completely at the cost of 100k Russian soldiers, and military equipment they can't even dream of ever replacing.

  40.  @LD-pt5ur  Won't work against tandem warheads- but it's very effective against single ones like RPGs. Thus, it's RPG fencing. An RPG warhead hits the metal before it can explode and quite often gets stuck. We used them in GWOT. The cope cages on the top of Russian tanks would protect against RPGs fired from rooftops, but do nothing to prevent a kill from a tandem javelin or TOW

No army has done it before because it's stupid. 50 armies at least have side slat armor. Why do you think Russians aren't putting cages on the roofs of their tanks anymore? Did they forget how, or is it because it's ineffective? Rockets are more likely to be fired from ground level. It makes sense to have the cages oriented to that threat. Of course, you will reply again that you don't get it
