Russia won't use nukes. They are even avoiding destroying the nuclear plants in Ukraine. They have been slamming against Bakhmut with no progress, and I doubt they will be able to get anything done with their conventional forces. Considering they can't issue new weapons, night vision, medical supplies, or body armor to their troops, and can't keep their troops supplied, I question their ability to maintain a nuclear force. Nuclear weapons need expensive maintenance. Hydrogen weapons need to be disassembled and recharged with things like new material like tritium injectors, which have a half life of 12 years. Ten years is the shelf life of a nuclear warhead. It won't reliably do what you want to do after that. Do we really trust that the Russian army has cracked open their warheads in the past ten years and replaced vital components?

@terjeoseberg990 Correct. I wasn't even speaking about the delivery vehicles, from missile bodies, fuel, electronics, guidance packages, and launch facilities. Those are all surely in horrible disrepair.
