Yeah he never even mentioned it. We haven't used Humvees in combat for nearly a decade. The jltv is lighter and shorter than the MATV, but both are made by Oshkosh.

There have never been JLTVs in Yemen

These have a way lower center of gravity than the MATV that replaced the humvee in combat zones many years ago. He didn't even mention it

We haven't been allowed outside the wire in Humvees in nearly a decade. We've been driving around in MATVs, which he never even bothered to mention. This is a replacement for THAT vehicle. He doesn't research much or seem to actually know very much at all about the subjects he makes videos on.
1
No, you had MATVs, which he didn't mention in this whole video. Like he didn't know it exists. This is a different vehicle
1
That's the way it's been for years. We use MATVs outside the wire
1
It's shorter than the MATV, lower center of gravity, and faster

I was in a mrap in Iraq in 2007 that went over a deep buried 200 pound bomb. We all walked away with minor injuries. We would have been vaporized in a humvee

@gvi341984 Yeah it was not a shaped charge. Shaped charges are rare under a vehicle. Still I would be dead in a humvee. I was in a bradley IFV in 2005 and we got hit by an EFP. It penetrated and lit the fuel cell on fire. We would have to have been in an Abrams to stop one of those. It wouldn't be practical to patrol in that amount of armor. What these will stop is light antitank weapons and 50 cal. Something the humvee couldn't do.

@gvi341984 Huge? Ok, maybe a little backstory is needed. The humvee was replaced in combat nearly a decade a go by the MATV. The M standing for medium. The JLTV is designed to replace those. It's lighter, this the L in its name . The JLTV isn't a humvee replacement. It's already been replaced for combat missions. We aren't allowed to leave the wire with them when I was in Afghanistan back in 2012. The JLTV is smaller, lighter, shorter, more manueverable, and faster than the MATV it's replacing. Look at a picture of the MATV and JLTV next to each other and you'll see what I mean.

@gvi341984 This will fix that. The JLTV is about the same height as the humvee. Here's a pic side by side https://www.motortrend.com/news/humvee-compares-to-new-oshkosh-jltv/

I'm pretty sure you're seeing MATVs
1
We had them. They were called CUCVs. We also have pickup versions of the humvee
1
You had MATVs. The JLTV didn't start getting fielded until Dec 2019.
1
It's not replacing the humvee. Why do people keep saying that? We haven't used the humvee in combat zones for nearly a decade. This is to replace the MATV.
1
The MATV is much taller than this vehicle, is slower, and has a higher center of gravity
1
Yes. They are sold regularly at government auctions. My friend got one for 5k

You're thinking if the MATV. Different vehicle, dude
