The idea is stupid and has been dropped by every place that has tried it for good reasons. The argument that people just aren't properly educated on the subject is the same as the argument that communism can work, it just hasn't been implemented correctly.

  29. The ironic part of the 2017 Trump tax law is that rich people pay MORE in taxes, not less. It wasn't a tax cut. The reason Democrats really gate it is that it targeted THEIR wealthy donors, specifically. The tax plan capped mortgage interest deduction to 500k loans, and capped property tax deduction to 10k. It's the real reason Manhattanites have been fleeing the city 🤣🤣🤣 The wealthy, especially those living in Democrat managed big cities, are paying more in taxes today than in 2016, and they're feeling the pain.

  42. @Jay B The standard VAT throughout Europe is 17%. You call THAT slight? A VAT would need to be much bigger than that to gone up with the 2 1/2-3 trillion dollars a year giving everyone 1000/mo would cost. I'm not exaggerating. In fact, I'm probably not estimating it enough.
