The problem is that the half of the country that voted in a demented, corrupt, potato are okay with being told what to do in every aspect of their lives and think that gives them authority to tell the other half of the country (who actually have fully functioning frontal cortexes) what to do. These people need a rude damn awakening yesterday, because this is out of hand. The federal government will not mandate this vaccine because it's not FDA approved, but the CDC will. They will issue so-called guidance saying that unvaccinated kids or people need to continue wearing masks inside and recommending that employers and schools require the vaccines. That is how they will get this vaccine "mandated". As a nurse I am disgusted with the health care professionals who are telling everyone that it is absolutely safe and it has been tested. There is no way to know that or to assure anyone else of that. That oath to do no harm apparently just went out the window for some.

The shots do not prevent anyone from getting or transmitting the virus They might prevent you from having severe symptoms but most people who aren't in the vulnerable categories will only have mild symptoms to begin with without the damn shots. It's like forcing all of society to get a flu shot or take a Tylenol every day in case they get a headache or a freaking fever. At no point is it the government's job to make sure I don't get symptoms from a damn airborne respiratory virus and it's not now.
