@christinefunk7521 Actually, blame the Sackler family and their pharmaceutical company for lying to doctors and the FDA by saying their oxycontin medication was not addictive. It was the most addictive prescription. They faked research data, bribed FDA officials by offering them high paying, do nothing jobs when they left the FDA in exchange for the FDA not requiring a black box warning label on their medication. Not only did they tell doctors that it wasn't addictive, they told them that if a patient had "breakthrough pain" (a term they coined, but really just means the patient was getting tolerance), they advised doctors to double the amount of medication. They knew EXACTLY what was happening as investigations show. They convinced doctors to prescribe it as easily as Advil and got millions upon millions hooked. Then, the DEA and DOJ investigated. The FDA put a black box warning, told doctors to only prescribe it in rare cases, and had millions in withdrawal. Pharmacies, pharmacy warehouses and pharmacy trucks were being robbed repeatedly. It was finally taken off the market and the DEA began threatening doctors about prescribing too much.

@floydpatrick1043 Look, Floyd. It IS possible to believe murder is wrong while also not having much sympathy for the victim. No one is saying that k1ll1ng someone is right in this circumstance. We're just saying don't expect us, especially those of us who have been victims of insurance companies to shed a tear. I am sure people like you don't give to effs about people who can't afford to buy health insurance, but imagine you're in my position... having health insurance and an out-of-the-blue seizure lands you in an ambulance and 4.5 days later you regain consciousness in the CCU.... You're discharged after 19 days and your insurance is denying $447,000 of your bill. So, you sell your home that was going to be fully paid off in 28 months and that you'd planned to retire in 6 years.... But, now you have no home, were lucky enough to have enough vested time to retire early with an 18% pension deduction but you STILL owe $173,700 to the hospital and doctors.... All the while you've been paying your premiums on time, every time. So, you end up filing bankruptcy... And now, you have no home, no job and no money... But, hey, you live in the richest country in the world
