@MegNotTheStallion Nine years ago when my daughter was a freshman at a well known and highly regarded university in the US, she called me on the second day of her world history class to tell me that one her classmates (class of +/- 100 students) raised his hand to ask the professor what the Holocaust was. She, of course, thought he was trying to be silly, but it became apparent that he really has no idea what it was. The professor asked for a show of hands from those who weren't familiar with the Holocaust, and five or six hands went up. My daughter was floored. How does a child graduate any US high school without having any knowledge of the Holocaust -- let alone, go to a university with a $42k/semester tuition (2013).
