The sad part is that if you stood right in front of him and told him what your dad and his loved ones went through, he really would not care in the least. It wouldn't phase him because it didn't happen to HIM. I do know a few people who thought he was great until his COVID response, or lack there of, happened.
I lost two friends pass from Covid, and I spent 17 days in a CCU and then an ICU ward at a nearby hospital as a patient... The first 5 days I was completely unconscious. My adult daughters were told that if I did make it, I would not be the same and may even be in a vegetative state because of the length of time I had gone without adequate oxygen. The hospital's covid policy was one immediate family could be designated for visits up to two hours each day (the ONE designated family member had to remain the same throughout and were required to provide proof of two negative tests 48 hours apart and have a test each day at the hospital. I have two adult daughters, and they were instructed to decide which of the two would be the only one to tell their mother goodbye. I didn't blame the hospital in the least for their protocol. They did the right thing to help save lives. I blame Trump because he was 100% aware of how easily Covid spread and that it had a significant fatality rate. He literally stated this and just how dangerous and how easily contracted it was when is heard on Woodward's tapes expressing exactly this.
I hate admitting this , especially to myself, but when he was admitted to Walter Reed for Covid, I was deeply disappointed that he was able to be discharged. I have never wished nor hoped for the actual death of another person, and I am somewhat ashamed that I felt this way-- actually, still do. It's not just limited to his followers because Trump brings out the ABSOLUTE WORST in EVERYONE....
The only question I ask his followers is... "I think we can agree that great leaders encourage and bring out the best in others. What has Trump done that helped bring out the best in you?". It's a simple, straightforward question that often stumps his followers. If you ask a maga this question, be prepared to call it out when they begin rambling about gas prices or any other answer that doesn't actually address the question. A nosedived demand for gasoline during Covid resulted in barrels of oil literally going into the negative -- from $100+ a barrel to negative (-)$1.00/barrel....But, the question remains... What did Trump do to inspire you as a person and how so? Did Trump inspire you to grab 'em? How about finger them?
I haven't had a single coherent reply

@gabrieln3613 First, Biden should have stuck to his promise to only run one term. People didn't like her in 2020 and she withdrew from the race. If we would have had an actual primary, we could have defeated Trump in 2024.... But, the Democratic leaders refuse to waiver from their old school way of doing things. Hell, the people who voted for Trump AND AOC on the same ballot, indicates people like AOC... But, Pelosi, from her hospital room, refused to allow AOC to be the ranking member on the Oversight Committee because Pelosi said the 74yo, white male with recently diagnosed cancer of the esophagus was "next in line". Younger voters LOVE AOC, but Pelosi is still doing the Old Guard ways

@37:00 Kinzinger is spot on wirh this. I had a company that had many, many federal gov't contracts for work performed on US Air Force bases with most taking place in areas wher even most Air Force personnel were restricted from entering. The feds scrutinized me and every employee before we could each be provided with a contractor's badge. Before the first contract was awarded, I had, for over a decade, travelled abroad 2-3 times each month for my work unrelated to anything involving any government, and every country I went to was an ally of the US. Actually that inaccurate. Twice I went to Cuba, but that was directky related ro a contract with the US Navy. Anyway, once the federal gov't was satisfied that my documentation that supported my reasons for my foreign trips, including a few that were personal vacations, and I was cleared to fulfill the contract agreement, I was given a written list of countries I should avoid visiting for virttually any reason, but if an foreseeable or emergency occurred necessitating a trip to one of the listed countries or territories, I should try to first make contact with X to attempt to secure what was basically a pre-authorization for the trip. For contracts performed at Langley, the parameters for getting cleared were even more restrictive than other bases -- several crew members were denied clearance, including one who was married to a non-US citizen from Europe who held Permanent Resident Status (Green card). Another was denied for a misdemeanor conviction for shoplifting as an 18yo high school student.
So, there ARE protocols in place. Musk and his companies have 21 CURRENT criminal federal investigations. Yet, it appears that he currently holds/is directly connected to more contracts in combined value than any other contractor in the US. He is quite literally attempting to buy an election outcome. He is SO CONFIDENT he'll face zero real scrutiny and won't ever be held accountable, that he is actually doing it out in the open...and even bragging about it. He believes and nay actually know that he is above the law...at least while Merrick Garland is the AG. Its unbelievable that it took a local Philly district attorney to call him out and file a suit against him when the DOJ should have nipped yhis in the bud immediately. Either Garland is a closeted maga or he is doing so much (or so little) to make rhe DOJ appear nonpartisan that hes making rhe doj look partisan. I think 89+% of Americans think he is COMPLETELY partiaan .. it's jus thathalf think he's against maga/trump and the other half think he's actively trying to not hold trump accountable. I've wondered if it wasnt biden who asked Garland not to go after trump because it would make the US look bad as biden is old school and for the most part is honorable.

@oleladywho The fact that he brought a 10 yr old boy with a brain tumor to highlight his commitment to childhood cancer even though he signed off on ending 70% of the funding on childhood cancer research is disgusting.
From MY POV... I and 14 others just hit the halfway mark of having a still+being-tested device inserted into our bodies and we've had ongoing monitoring. We've all been told that the research is now indefinitely on-hold. The lead doctors in charge of the research are scrambling to try and find an independent doctor WILLING to accept 1 to 15 of us.... I have full medical coverage insurance, BUT because I am in an experimental study (for a device to get FDA approval), ANY DOCTOR/HOSPITAL visits that can, in any way be connected to the trial study device, I am not covered and will be all out of pocket. When I spoke to my PCP, who told me about the study, that the study lost funding halfway through, he said he cannot see me as a patient while I have the device because his malpractice may not cover him. I went to see a random cardiologist and as soon as I told him what had happened in the trial study, he said his insurance would not cover any treatment of an experimental procedure. Get this, even the research doctors can do anything. There are thousands upon thousands of people in a similar boat. It's inhumane. Many, possibly most, in this type of situation are in desperate times, health-wise... With quite little to lose, I would think there's one if not a dozen Luigi's in the group ..
