@Jamr5 It's not that easy. There are procedures in place for a reason. People who accept and spend careers working for the fed gov't take a 25-38% pay cut over their civilian counterparts. There are several reasons, but one of those is that, unlike right to work states, your employer cannot simply fire you two days before you're vested for a pension. However, most people don't start out in civil service because of the job security. They do it because they want to make the country a better place and even more often, they want to support the US military. One of the benefits/trade-offs in taking a 30% reduction in pay is that there's a 40 hr, 5 day workweek. All federal holidays are observed, there's paid vacation time, there's an annual COL raise and there's an opportunity for merit-based promotions.
Working in civil service for the federal government has benefits, BUT it also has its own set of negatives.
If you want to have skilled employees who moved up through the ranks on merit AND who accept 25-35% less pay than their civilian counterparts, you need to offer them a similar type of job security that unions offer

I have been a faithful viewer, subscriber and patreon of Glenn Kirschner's, but over the last few weeks, I have noticed that he is giving commentary as though Trump was some random person and had not been able to circumvent EVERY check and EVERY balance and EVERY judicial norm in the US. Glenn is simply too keen to believe that our federal court system is going to be able to contain, let alone bring accountability to, Trump. The last few videos seem to be Glenn telling viewers what they WANT to hear vs what is actually real. I guess if Kirschner's take was that "Trump has the courts in his back pocket, the majority in the House and Senate, and nothing but yes-men in his administration and will likely never be held accountable," ... Well, a lot of viewers wouldn't tune in. I can't believe I'm saying this, but it seems he is telling us what we want to hear, including how it's SUPPOSED to work, judicially, but we've been running around the same block for 8 years, now. This is starting to feel like a grift. At least Brian spoke up and said it certainly doesn't feel like the courts are going to do the right thing. I'm sorry Glenn, but I refuse to be grifted.
