I'm glad the Democrats have Marc Elias on their side. I'm sure the Republicans would love to hire him!

@brucestaples4510 When someone says "THIS!" in response to another comment, it basically means they wholeheartedly agree with that comment. No decoder ring needed

At least bring back the Voting Rights Act!

@valyrian1124 Actually, it's the exact opposite. The rest of the state is trying to change the rules in just this county.

@felicitassalinas4457 Make sure your fellow Texans aren't dissuaded from voting because they think their votes won't count. That is exactly what Texas's GOP wants Democratic voters to think!

@Holy_Frijole WHY? What is the purpose of your suggestion that everyone vote for at least one candidate that's across the aisle? For you to say this, it makes me think you haven't actually been paying attention to politics over the last 6 years. I was a true Independent until early 2018 and never voted by party. Watching what the GOP has been collectively doing the last few years leaves me with no choice but to vote a straight Democratic ballot. Voting has never been as easy for me as it has since the 2018 mid-terms. If I had to choose a republican to vote for using your suggestion, I'd first have to find one on my ballot that willingly speaks out against Donald Trump, and there are none in my district or state. I think your suggestion to find at least one republican to vote for just for the sake of doing it is a bit ridiculous.

Oh, but garland wants to make sure the DOJ doesn't appear political. He's been trying so hard not to appear political that he appears to be strongly influenced by politics -- the wrong side of politics and the law.

@KeithWF But, Cruz was born a US citizen and that's the requirement to run for POTUS.

Yes, the "When they go low, we go high," is no longer appropriate. All that does is allow the GOP to keep steamrolling over and bullying the Democrats. I'm glad to see Democratic leaders finally pushing back on this Texas law.
