@poohsplaylist4913 Your comment is exactly why the Electoral College needs to be replaced by the popular vote across the country. Since I've been voting (1989-Present), there has only been a SINGLE Republican president that won the popular vote. That was 2004. Every Republican President elected since 1989 has lost the popular vote, except one -- in 2004. Weird that in all of 2016 Trump advocated for getting rid of the EC. Once it got him elected in 2016, not another peep.

Since 1992, every Republican President has lost the popular vote except once- 2004.

@bobreminick4699 Unfortunately with the filibuster in place an amendment cannot even gain momentum

@jpdemer5 That's why the Constitution has an Amendment procedure!

@pickledragonrebel How? Democrats need 2/3 in each chamber of Congress OR they need to end the filibuster and change the requirements to amend the US Constitution.

@bsadewitz NOPE. There have been 5 presidents elected in the last 80 years that did not win the popular vote.

@adamkronenberg8605 FIVE times not a "couple of times"

@Vipre- Don't let that red hat fool you. There have been FIVE popular vote losers who won the EC and became POTUS since 1980.

@donjohnson1578 Those are state electors. You're mincing words.

@fairyprincess911 I wish every voter had to work the polls. They'd quickly realize there's no way to cheat or rig an election. I've worked mail-in voting and the protocol is even more fail-proof than someone showing up on election day with an ID of an eligible voter

Every... EVERY country the US has assisted in setting up a democratic system for citizens to vote/select their leaders has rejected any form of an EC vote. ALL have chosen the popular vote for their leader. The US hasn't pushed any of these newer democracies to have anything similar to the EC because it is ARCHAIC.

@CarlGerhardt1 Are you able to explain your comment?

@california5877 You want it to stay because it's just an ADDITIONAL way for Republicans to steal elections.
