  2. ​ @EruditeBlueJackass "Lobbying" is a little outside the scope of Marc Elias's work. Unfortunately, neither the DNC nor the RNC is going to vote to abolish lobbying. Hell, the DNC is so focused on their corporate donors that they'd rather have Trp back in the WH than risk putting a Progressive, non-corporatist Democrat in the WH. That's why they're happy to support Biden, even though 76% of Democratic voters don't want him to run for a second term. The DNC can't keep corporate donors and lobbyists happy if someone like Bernie or Katie Porter, who don't accept PAC money and aren't strongly influenced by big corporations. Most of us realize that Biden has passed his prime, but he's an "establishment politician" and establishment politicians make the "rules" at the DNC. Notice how we don't hear much from AOC anymore? That's the DNC establishment reigning her in a bit. We NEED a SCOTUS to overturn a couple of the rulings stemming from the Citizens United case. But, money is what put every right-wing Justice currently on the SC with one exception, Justice Thomas. Apparently, he's been personally profiting in other ways...
