@Shark10914 In reverse: A vote for Biden as a sid vote against Trump is like choosing broccoli every single day and never even contemplating eating poop. How can you not see how much Trump lies to you AND how guilty of the 91 charges is mind-blowing. Cult is the only plausible explanation.

@DumplingsToGo A vote by the people sounds attractive until you realize that we don't want judges who are political -- and campaigning would make them even more political. Additionally , 74M people voted for Trump, and I really don't trust a full third of US voters! Having scammers on the court wasn't supposed to be an issue, but McConnell has worked for 4+ decades to get the current court we have.

@DumplingsToGo That'd be ideal, but it would likely modeled very much like those states that allow voters to select their state supreme court justices.... And it's very much political. The RNC and the state GOP get involved in promoting various candidates on the ballots. Additionally, it would need to be by total popular vote, but our democratic-based constitutional republic would likely dictate an electoral college since every voter would be voting. Before anything happens, the Senate needs to pass a law requiring strict adherence to ethics violations. It needs to be retroactive but first give justices a chance to self-resport. If anything is uncovered that wasn't reported, they should lose their positions, law license and retirement

@DumplingsToGo It should be reported and if it's not, they should get booted. That said, a legal code of ethics is needed. Roberts saying they'll TRY to follow the most basic ethics requirements the SCOTUS legally requires of ALL courts in the US except them.
