Pence called a lot of people. I suspect he was looking for at least one legitimate attorney to tell him he could do what Trump was asking. Can you imagine where we'd be if Pence had agreed?

 @symptomoftheuniverse4149 What authorities would that be? Trump's DOJ? Trump's FBI? Who would the VP tell? If anything, he should have agreed to use the 25A and take Trump out of office.

@teejay1650 No worries. The DOJ will likely offer Trump the same deal they gave Spiro Agnew: Plead guilty to one felony and promise never to run for office again in exchange for no prison time. Trump being in the WH again would be the most dangerous to the country -- much more than him being sentenced to prison after a guilty verdict.

They are so afraid of having a Democrat in the WH, but I bet they can't name one thing that Biden has done that hasn't helped the majority of voters. Trump really did highlight how many Republicans put party over country.

@jlasf There is a non-profit voting org who has actually petitioned the Secretary of State officials in 5 states this far demanding that Trump be disqualified under the 14A from being on their state's ballot.

@norflandanforevah Agreed. In Trump's 2nd year, it became crystal clear that there was no group, no govt dept, willing to stand up to Trump. Thank goodness it was his first term because the only thing that seemed to help rein Trump in a little was the implications and action might have on his re-election campaign. If he gets another term, I can't imagine what could ensue.

@rqrs2301 Anyone who takes an oath to uphold the US Constitution and the laws in our nation, especially the Commander-in-Chief, but deliberately ignores the oath, is a traitor to the country. Those people may not fit the legal requirements/definition of a traitor under US Code, but they are traitors, nonetheless. They taint not only our system of democracy, but our democratically-run allies, as well. The US has aided several countries in establishing their own representative democracies, and when an US elected official turns his/her back on our established laws, especially those politically-based,it is a poor reflection on our entire nation.

@symptomoftheuniverse4149 Plenty? Then, why aren't you naming one that could have actually done anything? Bill Barr knew what Trump was up to and he was the AG. He couldn't turn to Congress because members consistently turned a blind eye to Trump's behaviors and actions. All of those complicit with Trump's actions hold some culpability, but as we saw over his entire 4 years, there was no one with enough authority and support, especially congressional support, to do anything effective against him. I'm not a Pence fan and I think it's BS that he's being praised for doing his job and following the oath he took, but Pence was too fearful to even leave the Capitol with his own SS agents. That alone says more than words ever could.
