  1.  @songsayswhat  We really need to encourage YOUNG ADULTS to register AND to vote! Although it was an increase from prior years, only 14% of 18-24yo showed up to vote in 2022. That's the lowest turnout of any age group! Democratic candidates need to make gun control and abortion rights the "invisible" issues on the ballot in 2024. Those are two of the top issues for voters 18-24yo, and they tend to vote for Democrats (>80%). If young voters turned out to vote in the same numbers as voters over 65yo, there wouldn't be another Republican President or Senator elected for the foreseeable future, and the House would have over 70% Democrats. I carry voter registration forms with me whenever I'm shopping and dining out. If I'm waiting in line at a cash register or to be seated in a restaurant and there are younger people there, I start a conversation and if they're open to a friendly conversation*, I usually ask about their thoughts on having stricter gun control laws (I'm in a southeastern states that's very pro-2A). Regardless of their responses, if they seem open, I ask if they're registered and planning to vote. I'm not pushy, and if they're not registered OR haven't updated their current address (young people move a lot!), I offer them a postage-paid voter registration form. I've had 100% positive feedback. You'd be surprised at how many young adults are passionate about gun reform and abortion rights but don't fully realize how their votes can impact those issues. I remember being that young and not being interested in voting. For several election cycles, I only voted in the Presidential elections because I didn't know enough to do otherwise. If young folks could only realize the collective power they have!
