Did they not have an opportunity to speak or were they not present when they should have been? "Not having a chance to speak" is actually as Sen. Corden (R) said they weren't present when they should have been.

ABSOLUTELY. If they didn't show up for the two debate sessions where they could have spoken, that's on them. Then, the others speaking up realized this could go viral, so, they asked to speak again. Graham said, Some of them want to speak AGAIN, " Well, too bad. You already spoke. These sessions are SCHEDULED and allotted a specific amount of time in order to stay on schedule. Although, it would require actually showing up, they need to speak at the SCHEDULED debate sessions!

They already had two scheduled Debate sessions which is where they can speak. Thrones saying they "didn't have the opportunity to speak," also didn't bother to show up at either of the two debate sessions. This is the scheduled voting session.

BUT, these Senators DID have the opportunity to speak at the two SCHEDULED Debate Sessions. That is where the "speaking" takes place. BUT, some, like Sen. Blackburn (R-TN), didn't bother to attend either debate session. This is the SCHEDULED Voting session.

@ardeladimwit I looked at the roll call for those two debate sessions, and you are absolutely correct. They were NOT present at either session. It's like voting. If you don't bother to go and vote, you lose your right to later complain. You don't bother to show up to the actual debate sessions to speak, you lose your right to speak before the vote. Even Graham says, "We want to tell you AGAIN why these nominees shouldn't be appointed." So, the two are speaking out and who "didn't get a chance to speak" (Corden and Blackburn) weren't even present. Cotton, Kennedy, Graham and the others complaining ALREADY spoke. When they realized this would go viral, others started speaking out.

I saw a link to the "full video" in the description. However, this committee already had two scheduled Debate sessions, where each is given the opportunity to speak. The two claiming they "didn't have the opportunity to speak," didn't bother to attend either of the debate sessions. Graham even said, "Some of us want to speak AGAIN about these nominees." Kennedy, cotton and Graham did attend at least one of the debate sessions, and each of them DID speak at a session. They just want to repeat what they've already said in an effort to prolong and delay things. I'm sure all 3 realized this could be edited and shown on Fox, where it could easily have the facts distorted and supply more misinformation to its viewers. This is the SCHEDULED vote, but it won't stop them from trying to delay things. They must think their supporters are stupid.

You can speak at the TWO debate sessions , BUT you must actually go to at least one of those in order to do so.

There were TWO debate sessions for them to speak about and to question the two nominees. BUT in order to speak, Senators MUST actually show up to at least one of the two debate sessions. This is the session to Vote NOT Debate. The two Senators (Blackburn and Corbin) who "didn't have a chance to speak" actually didn't bother to show up at either debate session to speak. The others chiming in, Sens. Cotton, Kennedy and Graham, already had their opportunity to speak and they did speak at a debate session. They don't go around the room again and again. Each Senator gets an opportunity to speak/debate and to question the nominees. They've already done that.

@nonyabusiness557 There were TWO sessions for questioning and debating before this hearing where they are voting. If you look at the record of who was present, you'll see that Sen.Blackburn (R-TN) and Sen. Corden (R), did NOT bother to even show up for EITHER of the hearings. Sen. Kennedy (LA-R) was present at one of the two hearings AND Sen. Kennedy DID speak and DID question the two nominees. Now, after the others who were NOT present before but are asking to speak, Sen. Kennedy, who never misses a chance to go viral, is chiming in, too. He already spoke for quite a long time in the hearing he attended, but this was likely to go viral, so he's grabbing the viral opportunity. What's the last thing Republicans did for WE, the People? Every time they've cut taxes since Reagan's tax cuts, they ALWAYS cut the wealthiest brackets and leave those of us in the huge middle classes to pay for the cuts to the wealthiest. The reason they keep getting away with this is while cutting the wealthiest's taxes, they pass a resolution to take a lower % of tax out of our paychecks so it APPEARS our tax rate was reduced. BUT, because they take out a lower % from our paychecks but don't reduce our actual tax rate, we end up either owing the IRS at the end of the year or we get a lower refund amount. So, what have the Republicans done for us except take away some of our rights and our freedoms???

The only way we're going to get younger people in the Senate is when younger voters start voting en-masse. In the last election with Senate candidates (2022),voters aged 18-24yo had the lowest rate with only 12% of those registered and eligible to vote. Compare that to those over 65yo with over a 70% voting rate. This is a HUGE reason why we don't have younger Senators!

Blackburn and Corbin didn't bother to show up at either debate session. Now, they want to speak at the Voting Session. Too damn bad. Show the eff up at the debate when you ARE SUPPOSED TO SHOW UP!!

Blackburn nor Corbin were present for the two debate sessions. Kennedy, Cotton, and Graham ALREADY spoke at one of the two debate sessions. They chimed in when they realized this could be a viral moment they could use to twist the facts to make it appear Durbin isn't allowing any debate. It's no different than the GOP's constant action of "If we can't win an election by following the rules, we'll cheat by changing the rules."

Bingo! They seized up on a viral clip that they can post and Fox will leave out the information that the two who "didn't have an opportunity to speak," Blackburn and Corbin, didn't bother to attend the two debate sessions to speak. They realized this might go viral and/or it was a good clip to put on Fox and make it out like Durbin/Democrats won't even allow the Republican Senators to speak at all. Republicans and their games.
