Well, at least the debt was reduced by a trillion since 2021. Unfortunately, the last tax cut on the ultra wealthy saw those in the top 2% go from paying 8% in income tax to just 4%...That 2017 tax cut, you know the one that allowed people to deduct the costs of purchasing and operating their personal private jets and yachts, adds $1.5 Trillion to the national debt every year. In 2016, Trump repeatedly promised to get rid of the US debt in less than 4 years. Instead, he added more debt than any other President..and that's just from 2017-2019.. I'm not including 2020 spending because a worldwide pandemic is an unusual event. However, if we include 2020, Trump still added more debt than all other presidents. After just 4 years, Trump was responsible for 25% of the nation's debt.
BTW, as the top 1% reduced their income tax from 8% to just 4% because of those tax cuts, the middle class was and is still paying 28% of their income in federal income tax. What is wrong with this picture?
