@stephanied6727 It may be incredible and sad at the same time, even incredibly sad, but what at incredible gift to your grandmother to know the devastating loss of her child that she loved immeasurably was helping so many others. A student in one of those classes may have had a spark go off that led them to go into a medical field and is responsible for helping thousands, even millions.

With the information provided about troponin in relation to the muscle cells with cramps/spasms, I would love to see how troponin levels relate to diagnosing heart attacks.

@frebrd78 Are you talking about a punch biopsy that dermatologists often use? If so, I don't believe they go below the dermis to the muscle layer.

@strangerthings88 In @frebrd78 's comment, he said his pain mgmt doc prescribed the magnesium FOR its laxative effect. Pain management docs often have patients that must use opioids to achieve pain relief or to reach a lower pain level and opioids have a constipating effect. From his comment, it's perfectly understandable why magnesium was prescribed to him for it's laxative effect. Many with a long-term use of opioids history, often take "Milk of Magnesia" for the same reason.
