  2. And, to be fair, without x-rays you don't actually know if you have cavities that are currently eating your teeth from basically the inside out.

  6.  @Menagerie_K  It's not always bad hygiene. Some people naturally have thicker enamel or their mouths have a great "biosphere" that keeps the bacteria that causes cavities at bay and they rarely get cavities but their oral hygiene is worse than others who have lots of cavities.
