  1. David Hogg may be criticized by some of his fellow democrats if he criticizes a shortcoming of the Democrat Party, BUT the Democrats don't automatically want to cancel him, throw him out and label him a DINO. There's only one party that does that.

  3. Oh, honey I'm shooting for Trump 2022 or 2023. We shouldn't have to wait until 2024 to see him in prison. The only office Trump should be eligible to run for in 2024 is chief of bottle washing in the kitchen of his federal prison.

  4.  @intricatic  Agreed, but I'll vote for ANYONE or ANYTHING over Trump. Biden really needs to stick to one term. I don't know anyone who was excited about Biden as a candidate. We didn't vote for Biden. We voted against Trump.

  6. BTW, The Civil Rights Act was passed in 1964 not the late 70s. That's why it's called the Civil Rights Act of 1964. So, based upon your own comment, does that make you a liar or just wrong? I read your last 3 comments and in all of them you call people liars. I don't like to assume, so is English your mother tongue?

  7. It's similar to when people point out better conditions and better policies in other countries. It's lost on many that there's nothing wrong with wanting to improve our nation given the popular and very ignorant response of "If you hate it here, leave."

  8. I think it became more prominent with Bush and Gore v Chads, but from my perspective, it wasn't until 2017 that many of us began "sizing up" people based upon their party preference. It's only gotten worse. I am no longer in contact with someone I had a very close friendship with since 1999, and it seems to be due to our party preferences. Prior to 2016, we never really discussed politics. I am very guilty of pre-judging someone as soon I hear their party preference. From my viewpoint, I do not want to even start a friendship with someone who claims to be a Republican. Right or wrong, I don't see me getting along with someone who has basic values that are completely opposite of my own. Polarization may have begun decades ago, but it's only been in the last handful of years that many of us feel defined by our party.

  9. I don't think there are any true independents any more. Since 2018, people may not have declared/registered themselves as a Dem or a Rep, but they are not currently Independents. After 2024, we may have true Independents again but not before.

I think the one part of US history that has had the most impact on me personally, was learning about the actual history of US Reconstruction, especially Prisoner-Leasing and frivolous vagrancy laws. IMHO, this has had the most impact on our nation from social aspect. It is continuing to influence our society today in such a prominent way. Edit: Additionally, I think society would REALLY benefit if children in public high schools (or late middle) were required to have a class that focused on how to fact check, esp using the internet. It may sound simplistic, but based upon my adult interactions, including social media and comments, it's clear that many, if not most, of us cannot discern between a statement of fact and one of opinion. It's as though people jump straight to "That's False" just because they simply don't agree with a statement. Students can't just be told not to use Wikipedia as a source!

  13.  @pranays  Actually, what the OP presented as factual is correct. What he presented as opinion, is just that. You calling him a liar is the perfect example of what this video is based upon. FYI, it IS possible to agree with some of an individual's statements while ALSO disagreeing with other statements by that individual. If you watched this video, were you actually attentive while doing so?

  14. I believe it was actually the 80s when we first saw our first prominent 24/7 news network. No one thought it would work and believing people wouldn't be interested in that type of network, but it took off. Although, I still don't understand the 24/7 live The Weather Channel, but my mom could watch it all day long even if the sun is shining.
