New version: "I before E except when it isn't."

IIsuperstarII He was indeed eminently approachable. I used to work in a bookstore in West Hollywood, and he came in one day. After spending a little while helping him find what he was looking for and making some recommendations, I took a chance and told him how much joy he'd brought me. He smiled and thanked me, saying he'd been having a bad day and my comment had made him feel so much better. He was a lovely soul, and the world is darker without him.

I love how they changed her name to Danvers. :D

What happened to Robin was not depression. He did not kill himself because of bad self-image, or painful past, or even a medicable psychiatric condition. Robin had Lewy bodies, an actual neurological disease wherein the brain literally eats holes in itself. All the love and care and support would not have saved him. He and his wife knew it, and knew it was only a matter of time before he died in terror and pain. He decided to go before then and spare himself and his family what was coming. His wife has said as much, and that if he hadn't done what he did, he would have lost the ability to recognize anyone, lost the ability to speak, and the ability to be anything except fearful and in pain. He didn't deserve that. He took the Roman road instead.

So great to see an American living down to our worst reputation.

+DasPikachu He does seem like a very sweet young man.

Erections can happen very early. It's the orgasm that happens later. And the presence of sperm even later than that.

'Bout time. That is one irritating guy.

She was being a prude.

@D_Marrenalv I remember her from "TIcket to Heaven", when she was just a squirt with ponytails and a baseball cap. She played a honey trap - a religious fanatic who helps to lure in converts. Quite good, too. Cute and chirpy with an evil undercurrent.

KITLERS!!!

Glytch Harkness Jesus, somebody needs to get laid.

I was sure one of them would fall out of that tree at the end, there.

And now you have Proved Your Superior Intellect. Gee, we're all bowled over. * slow clap *

7 people don't like fairy tales.

Glytch Harkness LOLOL. Nice try, little girl.
2
Glytch Harkness *eyeroll* Grow up, child, and stop thinking the world revolves around your idiotic sandbox games. Regardless, I'm tired of your silly little ass. Perhaps someday you'll learn what goes into making an actual adult, instead of a teenager pretending to be one. * blocks *

OMG I thought for a moment he was going to say he'd done the salute.
2
Uh huh. And why should anyone believe you?
2
So where are the promised subtitles??

Not pointless. Every language you learn gives you access to a different outlook, a different "map of the world", so to speak. It's why there are things that just don't translate from one language to another. Languages are always worth learning, whether you have someone else to speak them with or not.
2
It's "bogarting". Named for Humphrey Bogart.

This is how talk shows used to be. Always more than one guest, and often interesting interactions. (My favorite has to be Shelley Winters pouring a drink on Oliver Reed's head when he said some really sexist crap!) It was Tom Snyder who started the one-guest format on his late-night show. I do miss the multiple guest format, myself.

Why in the name of the gods did that parrot want to shag this man's head?
1
He didn't sing it all! He left out the last bit: "There are the only ones of which the news has come to Harvard, and there may be many others but they haven't been discovered!" ...which was true when Lehrer wrote it but is no longer.

@dayneoram Not quite. "...and Argon, Krypton, Neon, Radon, Xenon, Zinc, and Rhodium..." is the line.
