YT has NEVER been serious about restricting krap content. It's a corporation - its only reason for existence is making money. They'll never do anything about this so long as they profit. Only legal action or a change in the law will get them to budge.

@neko7606 For me the worst aspect of this krap getting into the cooking area is that people will try it, and then when it doesn't work, they'll blame THEMSELVES, say "I must be a krappy cook" and never try again. That's the real tragedy - not the bullschiesse, but the way it undermines people's openness to knowledge and their willingness to keep trying.

@BlackHistoryBuffTV We are getting an extraordinary lesson in the important of regulation here. Nobody is controlling this monster because there are no rules or laws or anything saying it has to be controlled. It'll be interesting to see just how bad the damage is to humanity's psyche and ability to parse reality.

Yeah, but is there a rule against AI generation on YT? I haven't seen anything preventing it.

I'm honestly a bit concerned by how many commenters here didn't seem to know this was happening. Really? It isn't obvious?

There are a few niches that I've not seen any of this nonsense on. Still haven't seen any AI krap in the tie-dye area.

This is what happends when a global information network is established WITH NO REGULATION AND NO ACCOUNTABILITY. A good example of why the internet should have been subject to stringent regulations from Day One. But noooooo - IT'S A SHINY TOY WE WANT IT NOW GIMMMMMEEEEEEE!!!!!!

@adeadgirl13 That nice "professional" look is a scam, and the fact that people will preference those over the videos that look real - well, that's their own fault. Like people who want "pretty" fruit and reject anything with a defect, so slowly over the years fruit loses its flavor and appeal because it's being bred to be "pretty" and not, you know, good. Same with the videos - if people are dumb enough to be fooled by production values, eventually all they'll get is spectacular-looking crap on a platter. They'll get dumber and dumber looking at all the shiny stuff, and they won't even notice. (Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever come across a dystopia as creepy and awful as the one we're slamming ourselves into at full tilt boogie.)

@joeont Um, yes,you do. You ALWAYS have the option to hit "don't recommend." And your inability to pay enough attention to learn how to tell what's fake and what isn't is on you. YT will NEVER EVER do anything about this, so it's up to you to put some effort into it.

This entire subject is proof that the more "intelligent" humans get, the more stupid we fundamentally prove ourselves to be. We WILLINGLY walked into this idiotic situation. Over and over and over again, we shoot ourselves in the foot in circumstances where any TRULY intelligent creature would clearly choose the SANE option. We're not smart at all - we just tell ourselves we are. We're really a bunch of whiny choices there with

I immediately hit "Do not recommend this channel" when I hear ANY robot voice, even if it's clearly a real person's channel. That's if I haven't already sussed the AI from the title or the picture. If a poster is too lazy to spend a half hour recording their own audio, then I'm not interested.
