One movie that gets forgotten is Ticket to Heaven. About a shiftless young guy who breaks up with his girlfriend and gets sucked into the Moonies. Chilling and facinating at the same time, it's the most accurate portrayal of the process of indoctrination and deprogramming that I've seen.

I take it none of these fine actors have never seen Bram Stoker's Dracula. Keanu's accent was PAINFULLY bad.

+Angela Belcamino No. The shortness of them made them great, in my opinion. To me, it was obvious who they were from the combination of expression, gesture and sound. He wouldn't even have to say anything in a couple of them.

Pity no one remembers the films Duchovny did before Twin Peaks. Some great indie stuff in there - he was part of Henry Jaglom's original stable. (I also notice no acknowledgement of his soft-core stuff with Red Shoe Diaries, LOL)

Lewis's status as a complete a hole was well known in the industry. I remember hearing rumors in the 70's about his behavior.

+ShakeITyEA No, these are amazing BECAUSE they're so short. It's incredibly difficult to nail an impression in three seconds, but this guy does it, and very, very well.

After all the baking videos I've seen, I've STILL never seen anyone explain how you're supposed to roll out cold dough without it CRACKING. The only way I can do it is let the dough warm up.

My problem with the twin suns was simply that there were always single shadows. There should have been double shadows on Tatooine, even if they were faint. But that never happened, belying the idea of two suns.

Well, if we all had his money...

@kingflipptheog Um, okay. Thanks for the non sequitur, I guess.

@violetfem1808 Kind of. Remember that many impressions are very exaggerated. That's what makes them funny instead of just a good impression. And the exaggerations often develop not because of any logical progression, but because of audience reaction. The comedian will adjust and change it in order to keep those laughs coming, until you have something like Dana Carvey's George HW Bush, who didn't sound ANYTHING like the real guy at all. But we all laughed because we knew what it was built on - not because it really sounded like him.

Oh, that's very common. Al Pacino says the same thing - "I don't know what they're doing, but the people seem to like it!"

I take it you mean a heartthrob.

That guy wearing the wire minotaur head is ridiculous. I have an intense dislike of movies that pretend to tell "the real version" of the old myths. Prime example: Troy, which purported to tell the "real story" behind Homer's tale. There is none. All we have is Homer - anything else you're just making up yourself. If you don't have the courage to make a film about the myths themselves, then find some other story to tell. Stop trying to justify or rationalize them - it goes counter to what mythology is all about.

Next time, have the grace to acknowledge people who aren't in your little cabal, girlie.

If you want to see the real Jerry Lewis, watch Martin Scorsese's "The King of Comedy". You'll see the real guy there.

@jaelge Which in no way invalidates what I said. Just because some guys want to let themselves go doesn't mean serious money won't keep you young forever IF YOU WANT IT TO. None of the guys you mentioned gave or give a schit about their health or appearance. Nice try, though.

Technically. He's traveled above our atmosphere, yes. But the only people who can really be said to have been in outer space are the lunar astronauts, and even they were just doing the equivalent of stepping out on your porch. We've never made it to the street, let alone another town!

It's hilarious how intent humanity is on destroying itself.

Night at the Museum: It wouldn't be the first museum skeleton to be missing ribs.

Wow. Just...WOW.
