  10. @HANKHILLFORTXGOVERNOR Hate to break it to you, but rights are never automatic, and you are not born with them. Rights are an agreed-upon social contract. They exist only because we all agree they exist. The only reason that you as an American (which I'm assuming, I might be wrong) has the freedom to pursue your religion without hindrance from the government, for example, is because a bunch of guys 250 years ago agreed that was something Americans should have. Had they not agreed that was the case, you would not have that right. Rights are granted by others, which is why they can be taken away. You may think you have a right to live, but if you run across a guy with a great big gun who disagrees, you won't keep that right for long. There is nothing natural or inborn about these things - they are social agreements, nothing more and nothing less.
