I think you underestimate how many voters don't think he's a clown at all. "Everyone" isn't going to be mocking him - a lot of voters are going to be DEFENDING him no matter what we say. Also, why are we forgetting the electoral college? Under our insane system, it doesn't matter how many people vote for or against. Only the voters in a very few places matter, and they are NOT the voters in the most populated areas.
