  1. Oh, yes, it does. There's a tendency in quite a bit of the Latino community towards pulling the ladder up behind them. The people with that attitude think that ONLY they themselves deserve the benefits of American life, and anyone who comes after them is trash and should be tossed back. Believe me, it's true. I've known several of these people, including in my own damn family. Prejudice and bigotry is hardly confined to white people.
