  1. No, I don't believe we are the richest country in the world. We contain the richest corporations. We house the most billionaires. But there is a fundamental difference between that and being the richest country. The average American is deep in debt and has been gaslighted into believing that everything depends on money and that "entitlements" (what other countries call "rights") are somehow evil or at least shameful. Money in the pockets of the few and powerful do not make the country rich - only its rulers.

  2. Take heart. You do have to remember that these videos are edited to provide ONLY the stupid responses. Those could have been a fraction of all the responses they got. I know, I know - it's not likely. But they could. :)

  3. I'm an American and accostumed to this level of abysmal stupidity among my countrymen. What I really find disturbing is how almost all of these ninnies seem to think their ignorance is amusing or unimportant. The arrogance of American stupidity is its worst aspect, the level of complete nonchalance about being so utterly, reprehensibly, WILLFULLY stupid. That I can't understand or forgive. I can't sympathize in any way with a mind that has no interest in improving itself.

  4. The real scandal isn't that such idiots think only Mexicans speak Spanish. It's that so many people in this country don't see any point in knowing more than one language. It's bizarre, embarrassing, and sad. It's no wonder this country is in the mess it's in, with so many of its people having no interest at all in being in any way intelligent or having any idea what even exists in the world. It's pathetic and humiliating to have to consider myself as sharing a continent with such yahoos.
