  1. This looks good. This portrayal actually works as a young version of Gene Wilder's Wonka. (The less said about that horrible Depp portrayal, the better.) This guy has the sparkle that I remember from the original book, the sprightly, squirrel-like quality. Looking forward to it. I might even go see it in a theater.

  2. I liked pretty much everything about the Tim Burton version - EXCEPT Johnny Depp. His portrayal had nothing to do with the guy in the book. He was creepy and weird and had none of the charm and sparkle of the original guy. This one actually looks good.
