It's appalling to me that people really believe sitting in a room all alone and staring at a screen is somehow "social". Horrifying, frankly.

Maybe stop pandering to ripoff artists and dropshippers, and stop treating your real sellers like schit. That might help a bit. But that's what happens when a company goes public - all pretense of being worthwhile and having standards goes out the window in favor of lining the pockets of leeches.

Yes, I'm sure you find it encouraging that America's hysterical paranoia and violence are spreading.

Because "the economy" doesn't include YOU. That term refers to corporate PROFITS, not human lives. It doesn't MATTER to "the economy" if you can't find a job. All that matters (and this is what politicians are talking about) is whether the RICH are getting RICHER. That's the only thing that counts. YOU don't count at all.

Amazon is destroying whole industries, not to mention putting untold numbers of people out of work.

Why couldn't it be the same war? Why does the past have to be anathema? The 20th century doesn't have cooties, you know.

In my experience, remakes work when the original material isn't good. Then you have nowhere to go but up. But remaking things that were already great is pointless, definitely.
