Here's the thing about that incident - it hinged completely on the fact that the cop turned to arresting him when he could have just aided him. There was no reason at all to whip out the cuffs. The cop could have said, "Okay, I think you're too intoxicated to be out here, so I'm going to drive you home. Give this officer your keys and he'll follow in your car." Then he should have just done it. The entire horrible thing was utterly unnecessary and could have been easily avoided had the cop just decided to be a decent human being.

  164. Also, FYI: Many dentists run a scam that says you have to pay NOW and then you can get your money BACK from the insurance. THIS IS A SCAM. It is completely untrue, but they do it because most people just go along with it. If you don't have the money to pay ahead, tell your dentists that you want the treatment ON APPROVAL. That means the dentist has to contact the insurance company and ask them to approve the payment BEFORE he does the procedure. They'll either approve it or not, just like with any other insurance, but you DO NOT HAVE TO PAY a penny ahead of being reimbursed. (The agent who gave me this information actually laughed at the dentist who tried it!)

The civil rights movement was powered deeply by the religious beliefs of African-Americans. Religion is PART OF BEING HUMAN, it's been with us throughout our entire history, and it's not gonna go away just because you think it's icky.

Biden said he'd been tested, so of course Twitler has to start yelling about how HIS test was THE BEST EVAH OMG. I don't think he knows what this test is. Also, I'm fairly sure he really does think he just had it the other day. I'm not convinced this guy has a handle on his own position in time and space, myself.

  359. ...and yet the GOP will do NOTHING towards taxing the handful of people who are hoarding nearly 80% of this country's wealth. Fair taxation is what brought us the prosperity of the 50's and 60's - back then, the wealthiest in this country paid 91% in income taxes. So of course we could provide for people. Now? The GOP kisses their asses and will not allow the wealthy's taxes to rise even to THIRTY PERCENT. It's insane, it's hateful, and it's self-destructive. Time for fair taxation, because it's the ONLY thing that's going to save this country's economy.

  366. With every day this monster is in office, Day Zero creeps closer and closer. A decade ago, we had a century before the collapse. Now we have fifty years. This is accelerating, and even before Twitler came along, we weren't really doing a damn thing to stop it. Some cosmetic changes, but real deep change? Certainly not. No one wants to give up their iPhones and fancy kitchens to go live in a hut and farm their own food. (Well, not many.) We've chosen this, we're not choosing to stop... and so it goes.
