I don't think SMIC or Huawei has made any "breakthrough" in semiconductor, as China 🇨🇳 has claimed. - It's almost impossible to make a breakthrough in chip chain production because the process involves so many stages at which China is inferior. - Both Huawei and SMIC were silent, instead of usual big announcement, about chips being used in the phone. They didn't even say to have made a breakthrough. - It's most likely that they got around existing chip restrictions or produced with older technology before the restrictions took place.

  2. It's just a CCP noise. But the USA 🇺🇸 needs to look at : - imposing more chip restrictions and - plugging loopholes of the existing ones on China.
