  12. No, it's not. The S Class is definitely superior compared to the A8 for interior quality, at least how I've specced it compared to same year audi s8. In the same way, R8 > AMG GTS, RS3>A45. The RS7 is compared to the CLS63 FYI and in my view the two are the same.

  14. You obviously haven't sat in either S Class or C Class. The S Class is 100x better than a base E Class. The specced ones are good, but when I gave my S for retrofitting something, I was given a base spec E Class which was horrible compared to the S. My friends E220 AMG with the suspension option was much better but still can't touch the S Class lol.

Look at the owners instagram, he himself said his car isn't stock but has full free flow exhaust no cats. They said Ramon Performance car is stock but when has a stock M8 GC CP gone close to that fast?

It's been better value in terms of performance and feeling than anything in its price range and it demolishes everything including my RS6; the G80 is too harsh of a car for daily driver use though. I abuse the G80 and get like 180 miles out of £70 and still think its good value. If you want luxury value you can buy a 2018 S350 for 40k and get 600+ miles in a £90 tank.

  25.  @alexnutcasio936  We had 2 model xs, one was always in the shop. We dealt with Tesla service centre near dartford who were brilliant and always made sure we had a replacement car. It was still a brilliant car but a lot less “reliable” than the SVR and Autobiography that replaced them.

  28. Copied the model of fuel? Do you know much about cars? BMW had issues of smoke which pollutes the environment. Every diesel suffers when not maintained properly, it can be fixed by doing a diesel purge, and can be caused by rich mixture of fuel, unburnt diesel, overfueling or more problems. CDI is Common Rail Diesel Injection, something found in BMW Diesels as well.

I wonder why people are hating on what BMW and Mercedes are doing, it's the same thing they did a few generations ago, and no one had any problems back then. Once you sit inside either 7 series or s class you will guranteed feel the difference from the lower models.

If we waited for the RS7 Performance, wed then have to wait for the updated GT63 which would probably be coming out the year after etc. You don’t need to worry though, because the RS7 Performance vs GT63S video will come as soon as Carwow gets their hands on it.

  40. The thing is Mercedes has always been king of this segment. No one has been able to beat the S Class for sales, and even if the car is much better, it won't matter due to what the S Class established decades ago. Also, the S Class is in no way overpriced. There's a 5k difference between the two cars and for that you get a completely different experience, why is why you should form your own opinion instead of believing someone elses.

It got beat in 0-60 and quarter mile. They said the only reason it lost the 'battle' was due to it costing so much more, which is expected when these two cars aren't even meant to be in the same class. The GT63s went around the track again and beat the M5 CP by a decent amount on multiple tracks. Its faster around Hockenheim by nearly 3 seconds, Sachsenring by over a second, and vs normal M5 on Nurburgring by over 10 seconds.

  52. Do you daily drive a S Class? I'm a private individual under the age of 60, and have just under 30k miles on my 222 and I'm still loving it. Which technology am I lucky for if it works? Where are the horrendous electronic bugs, and the things which break every other week? Tell me and I'll go have a look and take a video for you. The only place I've seen chauffeur driven S Class' is in London, and other hotspots like Los Angeles. There's more private owned S Class' in London than there are 7 Series and A8s combined. There are 2 7 Series(facelift), and 1 A8 in my residential area, whilst there's 4 S Class' within 2 roads from my home. Where are you getting your statistics from?

My old A8 had the same interior colour scheme, and there is not much difference in the wood 'quality' between the S Class and A8. I can also gurantee you that it in no way looks cheap, or feels cheap. I only wish there was more possible colours. One thing I have to say about wood in either car is that the A8s urethane resin ensures that nothing could damage it, I tried changing the colour but it was impossible lol.

  56. All I can say is you are yet to sit in a S Class by you calling the interior a "bloody embarrassment". Even the C Class uses real, laser cut wood, not plastic lol. In neither car are the air vents cheap, I''ve essentially dismantled the S Class and can attest to this. I have an A4 as a DD and would prefer the C Class - if it was not for it looking so similar to the S. The A4s bang and olufsen is better than the C Class' burmester though. The Q7 interior definitely looks better than the GLS', it seems too similar to the GLE whereas you'd expect it to be more like the S Class. There are many people who have better things to say about the S Class' interior, including many reviewers, business executives, and awards. Sales figures show this too, with the S Class selling at minimum 2 and a half times more than the A8 each year.

  57. He probably does know what he's talking about but as we both are an example of as well as the other reviewers here and on youtube, people have different feelings on the samethings. The S Class is way superior in terms of interior materials to the C Class, E Class and entire of the Mercedes range except probably the new V Class passenger vehicle. The main reason I know so much is because I've taken apart a lot of the cars I've mentioned for retrofits such as Burmester 3D in my S350, bang and olufsen/mmi 3g high in an A4 and telephone retrofits in 2 A8s. I've also been in my friends S8 to speeds at which I probably shouldn't mention but I could probably send my sons video if you really want to see it lol.

The C Class was unveiled at Detroit early-mid 2014 and was available for sale in September 2014. The C Class came a year after the S Class, which will probably result in similar time to G11 7 vs G30 5.

  78. I have no need to "console" myself since I have a 222 S. I was being serious, the only method of tuning a new e350d as far as I have found is a piggyback chip which basically tricks the engine into running more rich, not a remap. The only reason people doubt you having one is because you're making "a complete dick out of yourself". Please, feel free to prove us wrong and upload a video as the picture you have of your car on instagram doesn't seem like a registered car.

  79. What are you talking about? You probably haven't even sat in a S Class and you are saying it can't compete with an A8. The S Class is superior in a lot of ways in terms of luxury to the A8, with one exception being possibly the sound system as I haven't heard the Bang and Olufsen 3D in it but if it's anything like the Q7's it would be fantastic. It is also a lot more sporty inside e.t.c. There are other factors in terms of loudness but the only time I've been in a 7 series new shape is on the M25 which in no way is quiet. There's been electric rear seats in the S Class and 4 zone climate for over a decade and the only 'sloppy' transmission is the S63s one in manual mode.

It'd be impossible for even a mini cooper to be 60% as loud, as it would equal sounds put out by 2 10" subwoofers. You're calling me a fanboy, yet you speak so highly of a car that you've never sat in before and talking about things which are practically impossible. You don't even know anything about either car except things from the internet. The 7 Series doesn't have a Bang and Olufsen system, it has Bowers and Wilkins. The A8 has bang and olufsen while the S Class has Burmester. Also, the S8s interior is the most sporty out of the 3 due to the positions in the car, steering wheel position e.t.c. You shouldn't be talking about things you know little about.

  83. DarkknightM4 Ah my bad, the coupe is about 30kg lighter than the sedan as ccbs have a 15lb difference which basically evens out both cars, but the m4 had half a tank of fuel which is 30l compared to the relatively empty m3 which means 20kg difference.

Nearly every other review says the complete opposite, if you search on Google 7 Series vs s class you'll find that they all say the s has a better ride comfort and that the rear seats are more comfortable with the a8 being closer in those aspects to the s class. Also, what do you mean numb and doesn't allow movement? The S Class has an incredibly smooth "handling", especially compared to the horrible 221. The 7 Series was definitely better to drive as a sporty vehicle though.

Tell me where or what you want me to check for creaks, rattles and is flimsy and I’ll go stress test it for you right now, record it and post the link here. My only issue is with the wood trim since I had to rip it off to access the subwoofer in the passenger footwell and I couldn’t put it back in like factory

Any manufacture can make a few cars which have reliability issues, thats the exception not the norm. Within that thread you'll find people that love their 7 series, and others which suggest the S Class as an alternative, there is no such thing as a 'better' car since its all about preferences and sometimes bad experiences.

The S350 came with 19" runflats, I changed them for 20" Pirellis with Vossen CVTs and the cars 'driving characteristic' changed completely. What I'm trying to say is that people with both cars will have rattles but its a small minority. You said 'Mercedes', which is why I replied with that. I haven't seen or been in many w213 E63s with build quality problems, if I remember there was a suspension issue in all 2017 cars which would cause it to make noises but there was a recall. The main creaking noise I've seen from E63s/M5s/RS6s is because of CCBs, which I'm surprised people still don't understand

  114. Chatta290 I'm interested in which dealers offering 7 series with massaging seats, 4 zone climate control, keyless go etc as standard options. If that's true I'll go sell my s class and get a 7 series right away. I'm also interested in which mercedes dealer said the e class is better than the s class at anything except size, since I hated the e class loaner I had, albeit not well optioned. I also challenge you saying that private individuals prefer the 7 series, a8 and jag over the s class. I can give an open invitation to my area where we can go compare how many private s class' there are compared to all aforementioned vehicles COMBINED. My S Class does also do 50mph, granted 0-60 is somewhere in the 6 second range.

  115. Chatta290 I looked at the the BMW standard equipment highlights and the features you mentioned are only standard on the m760li xdrive. Still a bit confused as to which technology the dealer is referring to, oh well I guess they needed to move some E Classes. I'm also willing to guarantee there are more private s class' in Bristol than the other vehicles except possibly the range rover.

The features you mentioned weren't on my list when looking for one, and I'm quite sure I've never seen anyone on any of the Mercedes' forum asking one. The document you're talking about proves that the 7 series doesn't have more features as standard and Audi Connect is essentially the same as Mercedes Me. Also, people do look for technology on Rolls Royce'. I only have 20 minutes experience with a Wraith Black Badge but from that I could tell it was lacking in the technological area. In the end I didn't really care since the ambience and feeling of the RR was second to none.

It’s a 20-30+k build to get 100-200 in 4 seconds, anyone who says they can get 100-200 in a m4 with just 1000 euro turbo kit is gonna destroy their car on the first pull lol. You need connecting rods, forged pistons, porting, clutches, axles, driveshafts, turbo, fuel pumps, port injection, downpipes, intake, r888s and more. The first 3 things I listed cost 16k for just engine.

  125. DBoy 37 Haven't had the pleasure of driving a 7 series but have been a passenger, I've drove the other two and as of 2015 could safely say the s class was the best(at least for me). I don't see how people can say one car is better than the other when a) one of these cars got released to the public this week whilst the other isn't out and b) most of them haven't sat or drove either car. Opinions statements are different to facts lol.

  127. Sjors The Taycan is definitely more sportier to drive than the Model S, the Tesla is a lot more spacious hence practical for some but it’s handling can’t touch the Porsche and you can feel it’s size

  128. Everyone regardless says the M5 is more comfortable than the E63S, the E63S provides a completely different driving experience which is why it's much loved. Also, there's no way the GT63S is slower than a RWD factory S63, wait for actual track times lol.

  143.  @bigjml  Wow you were right, I called my dealer and he offered a 85k s350 amg line for 50k, he didnt offer the same when I was ordering a vogue late last year. I havent seen these issues you're claiming and are saying no ones addressing in mine or quite frankly anyone I know with a s350s car, neither on MBWorld or MBClub as well. I'm on about 40k on a 15 S350 and my only issues been the sunroof seal having to be replaced twice. Can you tell us more about these issue??

  144.  @bigjml  By the way wth do you mean by they didnt give you a courtesy car?? The sunroof seal isnt safety and I got one, they did SCN coding which is 100% nothing to do with a fault and even then I was given a nice E loaner.

On the 221 there was an issue with the n0x sensor which causes gear issue, that was an easy fix but I highly doubt your story about gearbox and seatbelt issues, least of reasons being theyre definitely not as common as youre saying. Once they same issue has happened so many times to a single car Mercedes would take more "drastic" action, as would any brand

  148. This doesn't do the 1/4 mile in 11.9, the S63 cabriolet is probably faster than that. Mercedes also wouldn't advertise a quicker time if it hasn't been tested a hundred times at their claimed speed.

  149.  @zeshilyu8621  There's a video of the AMG GT63s accelerating much faster than in this video. Read reviews comparing it to the M5. I don't know about the M5 but this car is certainly faster than the GT63S.

  150.  @Neojhun  At 75mph it does less than 300 miles. It takes less than 10 minutes to wait at a service station, relax and eat. 50 minutes is just prolonging the journey. There's potential electric stations but less than 0.1 of a percent would even consider installing an electric station now. For the price of a Model X theres many much more luxutious SUVs I'd use for long range travels.
