  1. Calaghi Hard to say. Both transmissions are great but for the A8 the ZF definitely is the right one, for a sporty A6 the S-Tronic also suits well. I tend to prefer the 8-speed though.

  3. Andreas Lie There are probably some car magazines that already tested those cars head to head. Everything that I can tell you is that the 740d is slightly faster than the 3.0 TDI, which makes sense as it has more hp, but also more weight. I would guess that 730d and 258 hp TDI are almost equally fast do 100 / 200, maybe with a slight advantage for the Audi.

  5. Andreas Lie The difference isn't big, maybe 50 kg, but as they have the same power and more or less the same transmission the performance is very comparable.

Andreas Schmitz Also, natürlich schiebt der 4.2 TDI noch einmal ganz anders und klingt dabei auch etwas sahniger, aber diese 3.0 TDI ist wirklich extrem kraftvoll, hat meines Erachtens fast do viel Schub wie ein BiTurbo TDI (320PS) im A6/A7 und harmoniert bestens mit der Automatik. Also eigentlich würde ich das Geld eher in Extras stecken und mir B&O gönnen bevor ich den V8 Diesel nehme. Ich denke deswegen werden auch hauptsächlich 3.0 TDI verkauft.
