Any discipline stems from natural human tendencies when their potential has been seen.

The original book also has a good deal of social commentary on the author's culture at the time. Good adaptation here.

If Mathematics is discovered it is more likely than not, since there is then an abstract unified system that describes how reality works. And it would be immaterial by nature.

They do work, we are just waiting for them to stop so we can write down the data findings.

It is more a paradigm shift than a cataclysm. From here a good video for those interested is the Complexity Zoo video in P vs NP by hackerdashery. Put these two together and you can see this really was more like the discovery of a new dimension than a void in reason. We realized as so many times before, that the jungle is far bigger, deeper, and more terrible than we ever conceived. The Enlightenment and its mechanistic clockwork world give way to something else just as the Classical and Neoclassical Period before it did. We hit a new shore. There is no certainty to where the new road goes, but go on it does, so there is still exciting work to be done. Yet as we go, we must remember there is truth in where we came from as well as truth in where we are going. Take the good, leave the privation.

Time is a non-euclidian dimension,.so a 4-dimensional world would possess 4-spatial dimensions and one temporal dimension.

Sorcery of course.

In a word, entropy But forget that! Using the latest and greatest physiocomputational chronomechanics, you can have unlimited energy with only the input of a one-time input of 1.21 Gigawatts of power. Just leave the unit stationary at all times, or you might be seeing yourself more than just in the mirror! Charge your phone without ever needing to pay Big Biz again! That does not make logical sense since science uses mathematics to prove principals and give support that can not be given any other way. And most physical phenomena where mathematics can be use ro describe them are subsets of mathematical concepts and sets. Therefore the phenomena science observes are derivatived from the pattern that can be found in oftentimes a variety of scientifically unrelated phenomena. This points to the likelihood of it being a discrete reality outside of these phenomena since it is not wholly dependent upon any one of them. Chaos Theory for instance describes everything from weather systems, to gene evolution within a population over time, to even aspects of artifical intelligence.

Pretty sure M-theory has been displacing String Theory, or the Digital Ocean Theory, just saying that it's not the only game I town.

Do biologists use phylogenetic trees? It is essential to much of science.

You are not quite grasping it. Two new directions are added to reality.
