I think what backfired greatly at the dems, this time and in 2016, is, like the guest said, their categorization/stereotyping of ppl, their division of the nation by skin color, religion, gender, education, etc. I think this is not what ppl think or feel, and it's not how they vote. They vote for their beliefs and principles, not their demographics.
