@TheUmyth I am sorry, I don't understand what a "project state" is. But, yes, Israel was established by the Jewish ppl who emanated from pre-State Palestine and came from other parts of the world. Neither the US nor the UK played any significant role. The UK, being the mandatory power from 1919 to 1948 did all they could to impede the Jewish immigration and the establishment of the State. They abstained in the UN vote and didn't recognize Israel even after its creation. The US was vehemently against it as well, but Truman insisted on the partition plan, yet not the State, there is a difference. The US slapped an arms embargo immediately after the establishment of the State. They do, however, recognized the State. But recognition and establishment are not the same, either. I don't know what you mean by "legal" and "occupation", either. Thanks for posting.

@TheUmyth The UN partition plan was just that, a plan, not an order. It was a non-binding resolution of the general assembly and the Arabs were free to reject it, which they did. I am not saying they had to accept it, they made their choice. The Yeshuv accepted it, and that was their choice too. The Arabs went to war, OK, that was their choice as well. But they lost the war, and as is often the case, they lost land. Aggress--ion seldom pays. You can look at Germany after WW2, which lost tons of land as a punishment for the aggres--sion. I am sorry but I can't answer you rhetorical questions about recognizing, establishing, occupation, etc. I can only tell you the facts. yes, the Jews of the Yeshuv and those who came from other parts of the world established the State of Israel. No, it was not set up by the US, UK, UN or any other entities. It was set up by the people of Israel. Those who perished in the holocaust were dead, so they couldn't participate, but those who survived, those who came from other countries, not affected by WW2, such as the US, Canada, South America, Australia, the Middle East and Africa, and most importantly the Yeshuv, built the state. Thank you.

@TheUmyth I am sorry, I thought I just said that the UN resolutions are non-binding, and they had every right to reject it, which they did. You said that coming from a higher power, they should be. Yet now you're saying that b/c the UN chopped off part of their land, they were within their right not to follow it. I am with you on that. They didn't have to accept it. I don't see how they were "defeated by the powerful UN". If they ignored the resolution, that's the end of it. There is no defeat. They were defeated by Israel, that's what happened, but not by the UN. The UN didn't fight against them. Actually, the UN gave them more land than to the Yeshuv and included some of the land that the Yeshuv had purchased and paid for. They started the war against Israel, not conversely. They allowed Jordan and Egypt to confiscate their lands. Why did they do that? Why didn't they fight against them to defend what was theirs? Israel had no designs on their land but Jordan and Egypt did, and they took them. In the 1990s, Jordan ceded that land to Israel, and now it's no longer in dispute. Gaza was an independent state since 2005. There is no more land in the area to give them; it can't be further divided.
