Did the US go too far w/Japan in 1945?

@XTSu-sl1bb The US was attacked at Pearl Harbor by a vicious enemy and lost 2K+ men (military). Japan was nuked in response and lost 3 million, mostly civilians, total. Was that going too far?

@suecouture9237 Maybe not, the US was the victim, Japan aggressor,, The US lost 2K at Pearl Harbor, Japan lost up to 3 million by the end of the war, including Hiroshima/Nagasaki.

@frankward8336 Israel didn't exist in 1947. It couldn't have gone "too far" then, sorry.

@Prayforpeace1109 Israel withdrew its army and civilian residents. no Israeli was allowed to set foot in Gaza while Gazans came to work in Israel every day. Gaza had its own gov democratically voted in. Their utilities weren't managed by Israel, they were provided by Israel b/c they can't generate their own. They have nothing of their own, sorry. They can't even grow food. Everything was provided to them including money and Hamas appropriated all of that while Israel couldn't control a thing. They couldn't prevent tunnel building and weapon smuggling b/c they had no control over them. They had their port which they also used for smuggling and Egypt border was open 24/7 and that Israel couldn't control either. Some blockade.

@fuc-rf6io 1. But what were the repercussions of going too far for the US? 2. What else could the US have done to punish the aggressor? 3. What was the result of that action by the US?

@mattsavage9960 Thanks for your advice to get over it, I appreciate it, and I don't believe I disapproved of it, either, as evident by my previous post. Thanks for writing.
