@kungfreddie it's obvious there are different costs of living. That has already been calculated.

@dmmag8037 I'm not saying janitorial workers should be making $250,000 a year but asking for even $50k at this point is reasonable.

@dmmag8037 I agree. Every worker. Cashiers. Janitors. Everyone. I find it sad hedge fund manager make billions yearly(Steve cohen makes $2 billion a year) and Fox News drools over it, but demonizes people who make $11/hr.

@dmmag8037 in the 1970s college only cost a few hundred dollars for the entire year...and that included everything..tuition, books, housing, campus fees. This one Senator said he graduated college debt free by working at Mcdonald's. What he neglected to mention is that college was $900 a year when he attended...and he made the equivalent of $27 today.

@johnscimeca8479 adam smith said it right, workers can only contest the power of corporations through collective bargaining. And raising wages does not raise prices, it decreases profit margins. Maybe if companies weren't used to taking 75% of profits/having slim profit margins on top of that paying higher wages wouldn't be problem.
