Well if the only time you're happy is when rich people get bailed out or subsidized but angry when people demand a living wage or no debt I'd drop off the map too. But corporate media is too rich to care.

@BrandoB2557 correct. Have an arbitrarily named crime frees you from conviction. When Kristen Sinema down voted a $15/hr minimum wage she condemned me and millions others to poverty. But she can make $500,000 in seconds.
12
Bribery IS illegal. Lobbying is not.
11
Lie by omission.
8
That's messed up.
7
@g_man2177 I don't like the fact that the poor are expected to work harder and receive less money than the rich.

I live in North Carolina and I am not seeing the benefits of capitalism. I require financial aid to go to college since I'm low income, but being low income does not automatically qualify you for assistance or scholarships. I need both good grades and to enroll in a minimum number of credit hours. The former is difficult since I need money to get good grades but I need good grades to get money. The ladder is difficult since again without money I can only afford to enroll in one or two classes at a time, not three or four, let alone five. So I'm stuck in this ridiculous position of needing good grades to get money but needing money to get good grades. I'm stuck in a position where I can have a 4.0 with two classes or 2.9 with five classes and I would still receive no financial assistance either way. I work as a cashier at a supermarket because hardly any high-paying physics or engineering jobs I can acquire with a high school diploma alone. I make $10/hr which is too little to live off of so I turn to food stamps and other welfare. This costs more to do than me just making a living wage. I'm also denied benefits since I work part-time(you have to be full-time to qualify) but employers also expect me to have open availability at the same time. I do a mathematics-physics internship at $15/hr but at 4 hours a week that doesn't help me survive either. I'm no engineer but either I have failed North Carolina or NC has failed me.
6
@dark14life as long as the government helps rich people everything is in order.
6
@g_man2177 I have a high school diploma, unlike Laura boebert.
5
Sub minimum wage for disabled people too.
5
Also my company offers benefits like health insurance, PTO, 401k, cheap medicine, and tuition coverage....if you are full-time. So ALL employees are made part-time.
5
Howard Bueker because $10/hr can't afford a house. Or car. In fact, it costs more gas to go to/from work than what make from working. You seriously can't be asking me how I don't just survive on $60 a week?
5
It's to keep you in poverty
5
That's so messed up.... That is literally slave labor.
5
What happened to compassion in America.....
4
because it isn't about money, it's about power, control, and entitlement.
4
Exactly. Poor people like myself can't afford to run for office or fight the rich
4
Politicians believe you give the rich more money to motivate them to work harder and you reward the poor with less money to achieve the same thing.
4
It's like they want poor people to die or something.
4
It's a quiet way of Republicans saying poverty is not a problem.
4
If you tax corporations two to five times the amount their employees used in welfare benefits things would change in a hurry.
4
It needs to be written in the constitution that one job must pay enough for people to not be in poverty. Enough for them to live a healthy and humane life. That means a living wage and benefits.
4
@RedHeart64 it sucks. That's why literally 73% of hourly workers in my state are part-time. I'm a cashier. If I was full-time I'd get pto, paid sick leave, paid family leave, paid vacation, and 401k.
4
@dand3975 you are correct. But the problem is while pursuing such degrees many people are relegated to minimum wage jobs. And not everyone can afford college, especially In USA which has neither free college nor universal health care.
3
Yep
3
I thought public schools are funded primarily by property taxes....
3
If you're poor.
3
Even if I made $30/hr I couldn't afford a $400,000 home in my city.
3
@teresabates1498 correct.
3
Correct
3
It's called just-world fallacy. It's the cornerstone of conservative ideology.
3
Our government can end poverty it is simply not among their priorities.
3
Exactly.
3
Politicians don't want to end poverty. Because ending it destroys the power of corporations.
3
Epic
3
I don't get your point..
2
When poor people like myself can run for office
2
@g_man2177 that's messed up isn't it?
2
@dand3975 minimum wage jobs are real jobs.
2
@dand3975 times change. To ensure workers don't need welfare, minimum wage jobs should be able to support a household. To expect anything other than that is to argue for poverty.
2
@lynn2797 that's slavery.
2
@lynn2797 If only politicians still had a soul....
2
I lost food stamps and section 8 housing after my mom died, then Pell grants too. Now I have to live with my dad
2
Yep.
2
Chic Fil A and McDonald's make enough to pay their cashiers $100,000 per year.
2
Yep
2
@mickmccrory8534 Thank you.
2
I work at a supermarket where 75-78% of sales come from food stamps. Every. Single. Day.
2
@salex3873 yes.
2
Give them a dime raise every year.
