  1. I'm retired military, been in bars and clubs all over the world and into the morning hours. I've seen some scuffles here and there, nothing serious, and only one brutal fight that I can recall. At a club on Okinawa, I was in line at the top of some stairs waiting to enter, when a drunk marine walked out looking for a fight, quite literally. Everyone kept declining or ignoring him...except the last one, who threw the drunk marine down the stairs, jumped on top of him and beat the ever-loving crap out him. He got exactly what he asked for.

  2.  @sword-and-shield  You obviously worked in dubious places. My decades of bar/club hopping, my experience is similar to Evan. Only seen a handful of fights, and only one was relatively brutal.
