@MrNeutralParty - Reparations would have made sense after the civil war, but they are nothing but a pipe dream now. The best policy would be to provide assistance to all poor people. This would disproportionately help black people in the process and it wouldn't create a new class of victims. But this assistance cannot be what has been done in the past. It needs to foster a culture of education and hard work, not dependence and inability.

@DavidEVogel - Sounds exactly like my life as someone in his early 30's. Union jobs don't exist around here. No government backed loans.
