No, now doctors are prescribing responsibly. You don't need opioids obviously, they are not a long term solution to pain.

@festivalflightcrew2895 - Yes, and history has proven that. China was so humiliated they now have the death penalty for dealers and it is a huge social shame to use opioids. Hardly anyone uses over there now. Sorry, I know you want your opioids, but the current system is fine. They just need to send people to rehab instead of jail. But no, doctors should still be the only ones able to give opioids.

@festivalflightcrew2895 - Actually, given the very nature of opioids and their effect on the prefrontal cortex, many people cannot in fact be responsible for what they put in their bodies. China tried your way a little while with opium. Know what happened? It was called the century of humiliation. It was a complete and unmitigated disaster. So no, your idea has been tried and it literally cripples society.
