  2.  @aleksanderuzelac3319  - Common misunderstanding to who? Anyone moderately educated should know the Greeks assumed the world was round because they saw the masts of their ships first from a long distance away. One even calculated the circumference of the earth to a reasonable degree, all based on shadows and math. Furthermore, the voyage he was talking about assumed there was no land, so they could sail around the earth and reach the East side of India. Problem is, the world was a lot bigger than Columbus had hypothesized. If the guy is repeating a very well know myth, it makes me not trust much of what he says.
