  2. Speaking as an artist for 30 years...mentally photocopying the image in front of you is not what "Talent" is. Idealizing and accentuating the best features has always been the domain of the masters. This is not up for debate. Michelangelo, Botticelli, or even in the domain of "the Grotesque" like Bosch & Junji Ito... only bad artists emphasize mediocrity and the unflattering.

  5. Because most people judge based on looks. They are biologically programmed to do so. ...especially when they are given confusing input such as predominately male traits on what they are being told is supposed to be a "women"

  6. "she" is definitely uncanny for a fictional character. I've modeled in 3D, including in Maya. You might just lack the "seasoned veteran's EYE" to see it. Don't worry, I had the same issue 20 years ago. It can take some of us a LOT of time to recognize it.
